To All the Websites We’ve Loved Before

There are some websites that manage to find a special place in our hearts. Most come and go, but some stick with us years, even decades later. But why? Sometimes they’re not even spectacular. But there’s something about them. Maybe it’s the way it looks, the way it functions. Maybe it’s a certain interaction you had with another user, or it’s just a certain je ne sais quoi. It doesn’t matter why, just share the website URL, and share your story! How did you discover this website, and why do you love it? We’re all here to learn. And understanding why you love the websites you do can help all of us make the internet a better place for all of us!

  • I’m going to leave two websites here. Both are probably the two websites that have stuck in my mind the longest, each for over 20 years. One is a horror story published on Angelfire in 2000 about a guy who discovered a haunted cave while spelunking. Another is just a fan site about ninjas written by someone with the maturity level of a junior high school kid. The deliberately crappy design of each is 100 percent cheesy nostalgia. And I love it.
